I just bough a pair of shoes and a pillow from Darzah, an organization that embraces the Palestinian tradition of tatreez. It also helps female refugees make a living, and as you can see from some of my posts I am concerned about the state of female refugees.
It’s a bit pricey, BUT not only are the women paid a fair wage, but all the material is bought from families at fair trade prices.
Let’s face it, I may be lower-middle class for the United States but I am still incredibly privileged. We are not going to make changes unless we are willing to put the resources where our mouths are.
